PPA stands for planning, preparation and assessment. Under the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, teachers are entitled to at least 10% of their timetabled teaching time as PPA time, taken in blocks of at least 30 minutes. While teachers take that time, someone else needs to teach their class.
